21st Cracovia Marathon: 5676 people ran "through history"
Although the greatest admiration is for those who cross the finish line first, the heroes are all the runners. Brave, persistent and determined to achieve the goal - set by the distance of 42 km and 195 m - 5676 people* set off on April 14, 2024 on the route of the 21st Cracovia Marathon. The fastest turned out to be: Ezekiel Kipkorir, who achieved a time of 2:13:36 and Vitalyne Jemaiyo Kibii, who covered the royal distance in 2:39:26 (both from Kenya). However, applause is due to everyone!
Among men, the second place went to Shedrack Kiptoo Kimaiyo (Kenya), and the third place went to Vitaliy Shafar (Ukraine, winner of the 7th Cracovia Royal Half Marathon). The podium in the women's competition was completed by Polish women - Monika Brzozowska, second at the finish line, and Beata Michałków, who finished third.
The best of the Poles - Andrzej Rogiewicz took 6th place. Kacper Piech of the ASICS FrontRunner team finished in 9th place.
Traditionally, the Cracovia Marathon with start and finish in the heart of the city - on the Main Market Square - gathered runners from many corners of the world. In the 21st edition of Cracovia Marathon 5676 people started, and 5455 of them checked in at the finish line*. Competitors from almost 50 countries participated in the competition on the route "through history". In addition to Poland, the most numerously represented were Italy, Slovakia, Spain, France, Great Britain and Ukraine. There were also participants from other continents. Representatives of Africa (Kenya), North America (USA, Mexico), South America (Brazil, Ecuador), Asia (Japan, India) and Australia and Oceania (Australia) took part in the run.
The next, 22nd edition of the Cracovia Marathon is scheduled for April 6, 2025.
