Route of the 20th Cracovia Marathon

We present the route of the jubilee, 20th Cracovia Marathon, which will be organized on April 23, 2023. Once again, the competition will take place on one loop and the marathon runners will also visit Nowa Huta. As has been the case continuously since 2014, the start and finish of one of the largest events of this type in Poland, included in the Crown of Polish Marathons, will be located in the heart of Kraków - on the Main Market Square. According to the slogan of the event: "through history", participants of the marathon will run next to many wonderful monuments of the capital of Małopolska. Along the way, there will also be examples of modern architecture and beautiful nature. There are only a few dozen places left on the start list for the 20th Cracovia Marathon!

However, the marathon runners will see not only the most important monuments of Kraków - such as Wawel, the Cloth Hall or historic sacred buildings but also modern facilities, characteristic of our city - such as the TAURON Arena Kraków, the ICE Kraków Congress Centre or the Father L. Bernatek Footbridge.

The route is largely the same as last year's, with only a few minor changes - such as moving the start and finish towards St Mary's Church.

The participants of the event first appeared in Nowa Huta during the fourth edition of the Cracovia Marathon (in 2005) and in 2018 they returned there after a 5-year break. During the route of the 19th Cracovia Marathon, participants will run, among others, by the most recognizable place in this district - Ronald Reagan Central Square.

While covering the royal distance, the runners will also see Kraków's largest sports venues - apart from TAURON Arena Kraków, the Henryk Reyman and Cracovia Municipal Stadiums, the 100th Anniversary Hall of KS Cracovia together with the Sports Centre for the Disabled, and this year also the Suche Stawy Sports and Entertainment Hall in Nowa Huta.

As has been the case since the beginning, participants in this year's edition of the Kraków Marathon will also cover a large section by the Vistula River and circle the Błonia.

The route received a positive opinion from the Road Administration of the City of Kraków, other municipal units and the Police. It is also certified by the Polish Athletic Association (PZLA) and AIMS.

At the distance of 42 km and 195 m, athletes with disabilities will also compete in wheelchairs such as: hand bike, rim push and active wheelchair. For safety reasons, they will set off on the route 20 minutes before the runners.
