The PZU Cracovia Maraton project with the slogan to-ge(t)-ther(e)!

Marathon run and virtual run - these are just some of the surprises prepared for runners the Sport Infrastructure Management Board of Krakow (the organizer of the Cracovia Marathon) together with PZU SA (long-term title sponsor of the races organized as part of the Royal Running Triad). In autumn we are launching the PZU Cracovia Marathon project with the slogan to-ge(t)-ther(e). This initiative will connect all running enthusiasts in sports competition.

The coronavirus pandemic has significantly hindered the organization of mass events, including sports events. It was necessary to suspend training, it was not possible to meet in groups, all sports events - both for professionals and and amateurs - have been postponed or canceled. Due to the pandemic, regulations and the inability to organize a mass running event in a traditional form, the 19th Cracovia Marathon was postponed to April 25, 2021, the 14th Three Mounds Run to October 3, 2021, and the 7th  Cracovia Royal Half Marathon to October 17, 2021. However, this does not mean a complete lack of sports emotions for runners. Cooperation between the Sport Infrastructure Management Board of Krakow and PZU SA, on November 8, when the 19th  Cracovia Marathon was planned, 250 running enthusiasts will take part in a marathon run organized as part of the PZU Cracovia Marathon project with the slogan to-ge(t)-ther(e). The amount obtained from the entry fees will be allocated to the children's ward at the Specialist Hospital Stefan Żeromski in Krakow. Additionally, from October 19 to November 8, everyone will be able to participate in virtual runs: 5 km, 10 km, 21.097 km and 42.195 km regardless of their location with the special application for free.

I am glad that despite the pandemic we will be able to offer runners sport emotions this year. The marathon distance running around Błonia Krakowskie will be more symbolic than sports. Of course, everyone will run to get the best time.  As organizers  we want to show that we are together, that during a pandemic, while maintaining social distance and complying with applicable regulations, it is safe to compete. We want to show that nothing connects people like sport and the emotions associated with it. It is worth emphasizing that the amount obtained from the starting fees will be allocated to the children's ward in the Specialist Hospital Stefan Żeromski in Krakow. I am glad that our partner, long-term title sponsor of the races organized as part of the Royal Running Triad, PZU SA, once again actively participates in our activities - said the General Director of the Sport Infrastructure Management Board of Krakow, Krzysztof Kowal
